Plants Water Oxygen Surface Light Underwater Air Dead

Front What is the process of eutrophication?
Back Nutrients like nitrate and other ions enter the water from an exterior source,
Plants grow, especially at the surface where there is more light,
Light is blocked for underwater plants and they die,
Since the surface plants have their stomata in the air, oxygen escapes the water into the air and is not replaced because the underwater plants are dead,
Decomposers inside the water also consume the dead plants which requires more oxygen,
Eventually, there is not enough oxygen for life and the ecosystem dies.
